Hesai develops hybrid solid-state lidar systems and is working on automotive-grade lidar chips for OEMs. The company plans to use new funding to mass-produce its hybrid solid-state lidar, build a smart manufacturing center, and advance R&D on lidar chips. Hesai says it has accumulated “several hundred million dollars” in funding to date and recently raised over $300 million in a Series D. It employs over 500 people and serves clients across 70 cities in 23 countries, including Nuro, Bosch, Lyft, Navya, Baidu, WeRide and AutoX. Hesai also partnered with Scale AI to launch an open-source dataset collected with its lidar in California and last July entered a long-term licensing agreement with Velodyne, dismissing related legal proceedings. Hesai is a Chinese LiDAR manufacturer offering a suite of sensor solutions that combine performance, manufacturability and reliability. The company has launched a series of multi-channel automotive LiDARs, including Pandar40, Pandar64 and PandarGT 3.0, all meeting rigorous safety standards. Hesai has produced 200+ patents and serves customers across 42 cities in 18 countries and regions. The company closed a USD173M Series C to support expansion and development efforts. Proceeds will be used to expand operations and advance product development.
