Overview

Optimizer Invest is a Scandinavian venture capital company based in Malta. The three owners (two Swedes and a Norwegian) have an extensive background in igaming, ecommerce and digital lead generation. Optimizer is fully founder funded and is actively investing in start-ups all over the world. So far they have invested in twenty something companies, many of them Swedish (Reve, Tinitell, Consector to name a few). One of their most noticeable investments is Catena Media, recently stock listed at NASDAQ Stockholm earlier this year with great success. The investment phase is still very active, and Optimizer seeks to find new start-ups where they can contribute with funds as well as with expertise by appointing distinct investment managers that actively work together with the entrepreneurs to leverage their businesses. As Stockholm is one of the leading tech scenes today, they have a newly established office there to be closer to where the action takes place.     Playtomic began as a court-booking app and has grown into the world’s largest digital community for racket sports, enabling users to reserve padel, tennis, and pickleball courts, find opponents, join groups, and track their play. The platform now serves over 4.7 million players across 66 countries and integrates with more than 6,000 clubs worldwide. As of 25 September, the company has processed €346 million in transactions in 2023, a 51% year-on-year increase, while net revenue has climbed 38% to €29 million. Management reports that the business is growing quickly and profitably, posting consistent double-digit annual growth in both transaction volume and revenue. Playtomic positions its community at the center of its strategy, recently turning thousands of users into shareholders through a crowdfunding raise. The fresh capital will be used to enhance the company’s technology stack, expand operational capacity, accelerate international expansion, and build out offerings in emerging sports such as pickleball. By leveraging its engaged user base and continued product development, Playtomic aims to solidify its leadership in the global racket-sports ecosystem.

    Investoo is a UK-based online trading school and education platform that offers Forex, Binary Options and CFD courses in more than eight languages. The platform also provides trading services including signals, indicators and trading tools and has over 50,000 members. Investoo plans to use new funding to launch additional services and expand its team to 20 employees in the coming months. The group intends to develop better social trading products, community features and seamless integration with brokers, according to CEO and founder Adam Grunwerg. Management also aims to grow the Investoo Group into one of the leading affiliates in the retail trading industry. The company recently raised $2 million in funding to support these plans.

    Pensionera launched its robot advisory service in July 2016 to deliver personalized retirement planning advice. The company has grown rapidly since launch and reports 10,000 users, of which about 55% are paying customers. After winning the Optimizer Invest startup competition, Pensionera secured a €1.2 million investment. The raise valued the company at €8.7 million. Pensionera says it will use the funds to further its growth in Sweden before launching in its next market. Founder Alexander Pärleros highlighted that Optimizer Invest can support global expansion and potential IPO plans.
