Orbs
121 Menahem Begin St, Tel Aviv, 6701203, Israel
Overview
Orbs is public blockchain infrastructure designed for businesses looking at trust as a competitive strategy. With blockchains as the new standard for impartial third-party source of verification, solutions can give strong guarantees that will make them more attractive to their users and ecosystem partners. To accommodate business needs, Orbs is pioneering a hybrid consensus architecture, keeping businesses in control of costs, governance and guaranteed performance, while still capturing the disruption of a truly decentralized Proof-of-Stake ecosystem with a permissionless validator pool. By acting as a decentralized serverless cloud, The Orbs Network alleviates this problem and enables programmers to expand smart contracts with L3 decentralized backend services. Projects are freed from the need to rely on centralized backend solutions thanks to the deployment of these to be executed by Orbs PoS validators. Founded in 2017, Orbs is being developed by a dedicated team of more than 60 people out of its offices in Tel Aviv, Israel; San Francisco, California, Singapore and Seoul, South Korea. Orbs was named Gartner's “Cool Vendor in Blockchain Technology” for 2018.

- Symmio
Participated · Equity · Dec 2024
Symmio provides an intent-centric clearing layer and Derivatives-as-a-Service (DaaS) that enables exchanges to launch decentralized derivatives trading platforms within days. Its infrastructure allows permissionless creation of synthetic markets and offloads liquidity onboarding so partners can focus on user growth. The protocol is live across Arbitrum, Base, BSC and Mantle (non‑EVM chains coming soon), supports 600+ trading pairs, and reports $200M in open interest and over $8B in trading volume. Symmio uses off‑chain Solvers and a topological, intent‑based system to enable parallel order matching before on‑chain finalization, aiming for much higher throughput than on‑chain orderbooks. The team has been in R&D since 2021 and highlights AMFQ technology and a scalable multichain architecture as core differentiators. Symmio plans a Token Generation Event on December 16, 2024, launching the $SYMM token on the Base network with initial liquidity via SYMM/ETH on Aerodrome Finance.
- Fenix Finance
Led · Seed · Jul 2024
Fenix Finance operates a decentralized exchange on the Blast network focused on delivering capital-efficient trading for users. Its DEX interface has integrated the Orbs Liquidity Hub, a layer that aggregates on- and off-chain liquidity to reduce slippage, lower fees, protect against MEV, and enable gas-free transaction executions while preserving the existing user experience. The integration is intended to deepen available liquidity on the Blast DEX and improve trade execution quality; if the Liquidity Hub cannot execute a trade at a better price it reverts to the AMM contract. Orbs’ deployment on Fenix is the Liquidity Hub’s fifth on EVM DEXs and the first deployment on the Blast network. The article notes prior Orbs activity including a Q1 2024 deal with IntentX and frames the partnership as mutually beneficial for expanding L3 capabilities and improving Fenix’s trading engine. Financially, Fenix completed a $300,000 seed investment round led by Orbs to support its goals around capital efficiency and deeper liquidity.
