- Dermaself
Participated · Seed · Sep 2025
Dermaself has built a proprietary AI engine that analyses selfies to evaluate skin condition and automatically balance product ingredients, producing customised skincare recommendations delivered through an app, web widgets and in-store totems. The company currently supports a community of 14,000 people, with more than 6,000 active users and 300 paying customers. It reports about €45 million in pre-orders for its forthcoming e-commerce offering. With the fresh capital, Dermaself plans to enlarge its technology and marketing teams, enhance the AI platform to cover additional concerns such as spots, wrinkles and pimples, and roll out both a B2B e-commerce portal and a consumer mobile app so it can serve as a comprehensive “beauty identity provider.” The startup collaborates with Politecnico di Milano and Politecnico di Torino on technological R&D. Ultimately, the company aims to make scientific dermatology more accessible while reducing product waste and returns within the beauty industry.
- AmaliaCare
Participated · Seed · Apr 2024
AmaliaCare operates an AI-driven platform that helps families find and manage professional caregivers by profiling the care recipient, identifying required caregiver characteristics, and using algorithms and adaptive questions to surface best matches. The company was founded in October 2020 in Brescia by Sonia Paonessa and Eliana Pérez. To date it has served 650 families across 19 Italian regions and received over 60,000 caregiver applications. AmaliaCare has closed an equity capital increase (seed) of over €1 million. The new funds will be used to develop the algorithm and platform, expand the team, scale marketing, and open two new offices in Milan and Turin. The team aims to reach six physical offices across Lombardy, Piedmont, Emilia-Romagna, Tuscany and Veneto by 2025 and to support over 5,000 families in Italy within five years.
