  • Solarge

    Participated · Equity · Apr 2024

Solarge produces lightweight, fully circular solar panels that the company says are PFAS-free, recyclable, non-toxic and have a low CO2 footprint. Its panels are customisable for partners and priced competitively, and Solarge highlights that the reduced weight makes 40% more roofs in the Netherlands eligible for solar. The company also states its panels are guaranteed not to involve forced labor. Founded in 2018 by Jan Vesseur, Huib van den Heuvel and Gerard de Leede, Solarge is based in Eindhoven’s High Tech region. The startup is scaling production and plans to expand its manufacturing facility in Weert to meet demand. Investors and founders say the product helps maintain solar-panel production in the Netherlands and EU amid global market pressures.

  • Ecochain Technologies

    Led · Equity · Jun 2023

Ecochain provides life cycle assessment (LCA) software to manufacturers to measure product and site-level environmental impacts. It offers two solutions: Ecochain Mobius, a product-focused footprint tool for eco-design, and Ecochain Helix, a bulk solution for measuring manufacturing-site impacts, both supported by large global databases. The company serves sectors including packaging, construction, apparel, food and beverage, and consumer electronics. Ecochain has secured €3 million to grow its team and expand its technology and marketing functions. The business argues its tools make high-quality LCAs accessible and actionable across multiple impact areas beyond carbon, such as water and land use. Rising regulatory requirements, including the EU Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), are increasing demand for its software as companies face broader sustainability reporting obligations.
