The Pitanga Fund invests in innovative companies with high growth potential. The fund's goal is to work with early stage start-ups and to help entrepreneurs with innovative ideas to build their business. The innovation that the firm wishes to support involves innovative business models or the development and deployment of new technologies. Pitanga looks for businesses that aim to address large markets and can capture a significant fraction of these markets in a short time. To achieve these goals the companies must deploy a set of innovations capable of generating a wide competitive advantage. If these conditions are met, Pitanga is prepared to provide the capital necessary to develop and implement new technologies or business models. The firm contributes the necessary capital and is prepared to provide assistance by participating on the board of directors. Pitanga Fund has no limitations regarding sectors or geographies. However, prefers to invest in Brazilian companies or companies that have a significant presence in Brazil. Over the next four years Pitanga intends to invest in a limited number of companies, these will be chosen via a rigorous selection process.
