  • Voci Technologies

    Led · Series A · Apr 2012

Voci Technologies is a Pittsburgh, PA–based Carnegie Mellon spinoff providing enterprise speech-to-text transcription and analytics. Its patented technology employs AI and deep learning algorithms to deliver highly accurate transcriptions and insights related to gender, sentiment, emotion, and speaker biometrics. The platform can process up to 150 hours of speech in one hour on a single 1u machine. The company targets businesses seeking actionable insights from voice-based customer interactions. Voci plans to use new capital to accelerate sales and marketing while continuing to develop its voice-insights technology. Financially, Voci closed an $8M Series B financing. Voci Technologies develops hardware-accelerated speech recognition appliances, led by its V-Blaze system, that convert audio to text far faster than traditional software recognizers. V-Blaze is reported to auto-transcribe 100 hours of live audio in one hour and to scan thousands of words at over 300x real time with high accuracy. The product is positioned to enable enterprises to monitor customer interactions in real time, trigger alerts to address problems, prevent fraud, and improve cross-selling. Voci markets its affordable recognizers as a way for customer-driven organizations to analyze 100% of recorded call-center conversations and derive voice-of-customer insights. The company also cites national security and defense applications for fast, comprehensive speech recognition. Following its Series A, Voci intends to expand its customer base so more companies can leverage the spoken voice of the customer.
