    Super Evil Megacorp is a San Mateo-based gaming studio that develops high-performance touchscreen titles using a proprietary multi-platform engine called E.V.I.L. The company’s first title, Vainglory, is a mobile esport with more than 3,000 teams, 1 billion matches played, and leagues across North America, Europe, Japan, China, Korea and Southeast Asia. The studio employs about 80 people and is hiring. It plans to use new capital to continue developing its platform and games and to expand operations. To date the company has raised $63M in funding. Super Evil Megacorp develops games that deliver console-quality graphics, precision controls and social gameplay experiences for touch-screen devices. Its first title, Vainglory, is a multiplayer online battle game built for tablets. The company plans to build additional touch-screen gaming experiences and to evolve Vainglory into a mass-market esport. To support those plans it raised $26M in funding. Super Evil was co-founded in 2012 by Bo Daly (co-founder and CEO), Stephan Sherman (co-founder and CCO), and Kristian Segerstrale (COO and Executive Director) and is based in San Mateo, California.     MetroGames is an Argentinian social gaming company that operates more than 30 games on Facebook and its own standalone social gaming site. Its core product is a portfolio of social games and a social gaming platform. The company raised $5 million in Series A funding from game developer Playdom to expand development of its games and platform. Playdom’s CEO John Pleasants will join MetroGames’ board. Pleasants said he believes MetroGames will become a "big player in the social gaming market." The financing is intended to accelerate MetroGames’ game development and platform growth in the social gaming space.
