Appcharge is a direct-to-consumer (DTC) platform for mobile game publishers, offering fully branded web stores, gamified offers, global payments checkout, and mobile in-app payments SDKs. The company has launched an iOS Payments SDK, AppDirect, and widely-adopted Payment Links to expand its suite of compliant, scalable DTC tools. Appcharge powers stores for more than 100 games and for over one-third of the top-grossing mobile games, with publishers reporting average profit lifts of 35% and improved retention. The platform is processing more than $500 million in transactions and has grown 14x year-over-year. Appcharge plans to use new funding to scale its platform with new products to meet global industry demand and to lead the next era of customer engagement beyond app stores. The company is headquartered in Tel Aviv and is led by veterans from Rovio, Huge Games, Moon Active, and Play Studios. Appcharge builds a headless commerce platform for game publishers to sell in-game currencies and virtual goods directly to players. The platform links gaming accounts to publisher-run stores, provides pricing and purchasing analytics, and acts as merchant of record by creating local merchant entities, tax registration, payment facilities and fraud prevention. The company processes roughly $200 million annually in purchases and counts customers in the "tens." Founded in 2022 by Maor Sason and based in Tel Aviv, Appcharge plans to expand its analytics with more machine-learning capabilities in the coming months. It positions itself as a complement to app-store and direct storefront efforts rather than an in-app bridge, relying on channels like newsletters and gaming communities for traffic. The funding will support expansion of the product and go-to-market efforts.
