Sharkbite Games is an eight-person studio made up of industry veterans working on PC and mobile titles. The team is developing two games: a casual mobile game due later this year and a more ambitious multiplayer title targeting PC and mobile for the mid-core space planned for 2019. The company was founded last year in Bellevue, Wash., and may explore virtual reality in the future. Sharkbite’s culture goal is to be a high-caliber studio where people love to work and play. The founders have not disclosed a revenue model and said the company will announce more later this year. Prior to the recent round, initial funding came from founder Rick Ellis, family and friends.

Indow Windows makes custom acrylic window inserts edged with a patented compression tube that homeowners press into existing frames to reduce drafts and noise. The inserts are manufactured in Portland, distributed through 26 dealers, and an average-size unit costs about $250. The company says inserts cost about 80 percent of the cost to replace a window and qualify for a federal tax credit. Dealers handle laser measurements (Seattle’s Neil Kelly is a main dealer) and submit dimensions via specialized software; turnaround from measurement to shipping is about three weeks. Management says demand has been strong and the company is scaling up distribution and production to meet interest. New funding will be applied to product development and sales and marketing to support that growth. Indow Windows is a Portland, Oregon–based manufacturer of thermal window inserts founded in 2010 by CEO Sam Pardue. Its core product is a thermal window insert composed of a sheet of acrylic glazing edged with a patented Compression Tube. The Compression Tube design lets the insert press into place on the inside of a window frame without requiring installation of an interior bracket. The company has set up dealers throughout Washington and Oregon and is establishing distribution in key U.S. markets. Indow intends to use new funding to increase sales, marketing, and operations as part of a national expansion. It recently closed a $1.3M Series A funding round to support those efforts.
