AltoBeam is a fabless IC design company developing products for advanced DTV receivers. Its flagship ATBM88xx demodulator families have been adopted by a significant majority of TV makers. In 2011 the company held over 80% TV and set-top box market share in DTMB/DVB-C demodulator shipments. AltoBeam recently closed a $6M Series D round that was oversubscribed. The company says the new capital will be used to fund rapid growth and product expansion. The company is headquartered in Beijing. AltoBeam develops advanced digital TV (DTV) demodulators and designs digital TV receiver chipsets. The company has established an R&D center in Beijing Tsinghua Science Park. Its management team has accumulated years of product experience in wireless communications, ASIC design, and analog and RF IC design. Team members previously worked at companies including Atheros and Qualcomm. AltoBeam closed a $6M Series C financing led by US Venture Partners. Existing investors DFJ DragonFund, Tano Capital and PYJ-Dynasty Venture Fund participated in the round.
