Baijiayun provides cloud-based video software that enables training agencies and corporate clients to deliver livestreaming courses, on-demand video classes, and video conferences. The company moved quickly to meet explosive demand for cloud video services from the education and corporate training sectors during the COVID-19 pandemic. Baijiayun has acquired three companies and integrated them into its in-house product suite, and it plans to continue making acquisitions. Founder and CEO Li Gangjiang, previously CTO of Sohu's video unit, says the company aims to build multiple product lines and grow substantially. Baidu is among the company's investors and has previously backed Baijiayun. New funding will be used for hiring, sales network expansion, R&D, and mergers and acquisitions. Baijiayun was founded in 2017 and is based in Beijing.
