Bonne O Holdings is a Toronto-based developer of an innovative sparkling beverage system that infuses real ingredients and bubbles into drinks without a CO2 tank. Led by President and co-founder Darren Hatherell, the company says the system can prepare beverages in as little as 90 seconds. The company plans to develop and launch its product Spärkel, accelerate marketing efforts and fully launch later this summer. It also intends to continue expanding distribution of the system. Bonne O closed the final tranche of a $7.5M Series B financing led by NY Group Partners with participation from new and existing investors including Radar Capital of Toronto. Spärkel is currently available for presale on Indiegogo with early bird discounts of up to 50%.

Metamaterial Technologies specializes in metamaterial research, nanofabrication and computational electromagnetics to develop a new class of optical smart materials. Its core product is metaAIR™, a flexible metamaterial optical filter engineered to protect vision against harmful laser beams aimed at aircraft. The company intends to commercialize metaAIR for aviation and expand applications into military, transportation and glass manufacturing. MTI plans to use proceeds from the financing to commercialize its aerospace laser protection product and to develop production tools for its smart material platform. The company has pursued partnerships and acquisitions to accelerate development, including partnerships with Airbus and the 2016 acquisition of Rolith Inc’s nanofabrication business. It maintains offices in Halifax (Nova Scotia), London (England) and Pleasanton (California).
