  • Ossus Biorenewables

    Led · Series A · Apr 2023

Ossus Biorenewables develops the OB HydraCel, an AI-powered intelligent bioreactor that extracts carbon from industrial wastewater and produces green hydrogen gas on-site. The company uses microorganisms sourced from effluents as catalysts and employs waste carbon from industrial effluents as feedstock. Ossus says it is currently producing and supplying hydrogen at less than a dollar per kilogram using wastewater. The recently raised $2.4M pre-Series A will be used to accelerate deployment of HydraCel across industries such as refining, foods, brewing, chemicals, and pharmaceuticals. Ossus aims to produce 3–5 tons of green hydrogen per day by the end of this year. The team plans to scale manufacturing of HydraCel, build enhanced bio-capability with state-of-the-art instrumentation, and expand across South Asia, Europe, and the US.
