- GenrAb
Participated · Seed · Apr 2025
GenrAb discovers and develops naturally occurring, fully‑human neuroprotective antibodies using proprietary immunogenetic models applied to cerebrospinal fluid from patients with active neurological disease. Its lead candidate, TGM‑010, has repeatedly demonstrated the ability to cross the blood‑brain barrier, internalize into neurons, and engage stress‑management machinery to reduce neurological disability. The company says it is building a growing pipeline of partnerable neurotherapeutic antibodies selected for antineuronal capabilities and potential to manage neuronal stress. Proceeds from the announced financing will allow GenrAb to emerge from stealth and accelerate TGM‑010 through IND enabling work toward human clinical studies in 2026. GenrAb was founded on technology exclusively licensed from UT Southwestern Medical Center and is headquartered in BioLabs at Pegasus Park in Dallas. The company has received multiple regional awards recognizing its approach to treating neurodegeneration.
- Asalyxa Bio
Led · Seed · Feb 2021
Asalyxa Bio develops nano-engineered, immune cell-targeted therapeutics built on its proprietary PANTHER technology platform. The PANTHER platform enables targeted delivery of therapeutic compounds directly to neutrophils and other key immune cells, and can deliver existing and novel drugs. Its lead program, ASX-100, is a neutrophil-targeted formulation being developed for the resolution of Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome (ARDS). Proceeds from the recent seed financing will be used to advance ASX-100 into first-in-human clinical trials. The company is led by president and CEO Marc Appel and is advancing drug-development programs across multiple disease areas driven by dysregulated immune signaling.
- Novosteo
Led · Seed · Aug 2019
Novosteo develops and delivers new drugs for the treatment of bone fractures, bone metastasis and infection to reduce morbidity, mortality and loss of mobility and productivity. Its lead candidate, NOV004, has shown promise in live animal studies by accelerating fracture healing when delivered systemically. NOV004 reportedly concentrates at the fracture site while avoiding accumulation in the rest of the body. The company plans to advance NOV004 into clinical development beginning in the first half of 2021. Novosteo was co-founded by Stewart Low and Philip Low of Purdue University. The company is based in Austin, Texas. Novosteo is a Purdue University spin-out developing a novel injectable-targeted drug that concentrates at fracture sites after systemic administration to accelerate and improve bone healing. The company has completed preclinical studies showing the targeted drug heals bone fractures faster and better than the same untargeted drug. Those research findings were published in a June 2018 Department of Defense Spotlight article authored by the company’s co‑founders. Novosteo is co‑founded by Philip S. Low and Stewart A. Low. The recent investment is intended to help build out business infrastructure to compete for talent and capital in global markets. No operating metrics (revenue/users) are disclosed in the article.
