Social Cooling's core product, Terra Breeze, is a plug-and-play climate device that stores heat inside a patented thermal energy storage system using a phase-change material rather than expelling it. The device requires no exhaust hose or installation and the startup says it can cut power consumption by about 40% versus conventional air conditioners. The company is currently in a development and optimization phase, iterating hardware to balance production cost, efficiency, and quality. The new €400,000 investment will be used primarily for product optimization and to fund multiple iteration rounds toward a market-ready MVP. Social Cooling plans a software launch next year to add occupancy detection so stored heat is released only when appropriate, and aims to bring a first market offering to direct customers at a planned September launch. Early pilots are already running with partners including the Rewe Group in Cologne, the City of Vienna, Energie Steiermark, and two municipalities in Luxembourg.

so.cool develops TerraBreeze, a room air-conditioning device that requires no outdoor unit or exhaust hose and stores unwanted heat using phase-change materials and terracotta heat-exchange tubes that leverage evaporative cooling. The company says TerraBreeze delivers about 12,000 BTU of cooling, can provide six to twelve hours of continuous cooling in rooms of 15–35 square meters (and—depending on heat load—can serve rooms up to 50 square meters), and also functions as an air purifier and dehumidifier. A patent has been granted and the Vienna Institute of Building Research & Innovation (IBR&I) issued a report confirming the technical plausibility of the approach. The current prototype is roughly the size of a wardrobe, with plans to make the production model 30–40% more compact. so.cool is initially targeting commercial customers and is running pilots with municipal and corporate partners; it lists a discounted preorder price of €3,000 and an expected later price of about €3,800–€3,900. The company plans to start deliveries next year and targets selling around 2,000 units by the end of 2026.
