Sandstorm is a gold streaming and royalty company. Sandstorm provides upfront financing to gold mining companies that are looking for capital and in return, receives the right to a percentage of the gold produced from a mine, for the life of the mine. Sandstorm has acquired a portfolio of 160 streams and royalties, of which 20 of the underlying mines are producing. Sandstorm plans to grow and diversify its low cost production profile through the acquisition of additional gold streams and royalties.

BitGold is a consumer-focused internet platform that combines free global payments with access to secure, redeemable gold for savings. Its product blends a gold exchange, payments technology, and custody to let users acquire, store, and spend gold digitally. The company positions gold as a core savings account, a digital currency for seamless global payments, or physical storage as a safety valve. BitGold planned a platform launch in Q1 2015 and closed a $3.5 million Series A in advance of that launch. Earlier in 2014 the co-founders Roy Sebag and Josh Crumb provided angel financing to develop and acquire key intellectual property and a proof of concept. BitGold is a Canadian corporation with offices in Toronto and Milan and has partnered with firms in auditing, vault security, and web security while committing to AML and KYC compliance.
