DeltaX provides a mobile-first platform to digitize freight forwarding and over-the-road trucking across the Andean region, adding communication, cargo tracking, reporting and shipment-document visibility. The company launched a driver-focused mobile app in February 2020 and still relies on mobile and WhatsApp bots to serve drivers. DeltaX plans to layer fintech (microcredit/advance products) and machine-learning prediction capabilities to improve drivers' income predictability and working conditions. The startup currently serves about 1,300 affiliated drivers and has a team of 23. Proceeds from its recent seed round will be used to hire data scientists, UX experts, software engineers and product managers to build fintech and ML features. DeltaX plans near-term geographic expansion with new offices starting in Peru and longer-term growth into Chile, Colombia, Ecuador and Paraguay.
