Looxid Labs is a Seoul, South Korea-based emotion AI startup that developed an emotion recognition system combining eye and brain interfaces optimized for VR. The system measures users' eye movement and brain activity using VR-embeddable eye-tracking cameras and EEG sensors when users wear VR headsets. Machine learning algorithms detect and classify users' emotional states. The company intends to use the $4M Series A to accelerate the launch of its VR user analytics solutions. Led by CEO Yong Wook Chae, the solution can be applied to various VR applications that require better understanding of users' states and the development of more immersive VR systems. The Series A was secured in a round led by Hastings Asset Management, Daesung Private Equity, Sejong Venture Partners and Samsung Venture Investment.
