Virteo offers an online platform to simplify and automate recovery of unpaid invoices, centralizing communication and automating assignment of attorneys and bailiffs. The company says the product addresses Belgium’s late-payment problem—about half of invoices are late and up to 3% are never paid. Virteo plans to use the new funds to accelerate commercialization in Belgium and to expand internationally. The startup recently hired four employees, bringing its headcount to 17. The company positions its software as a way to reduce labor-intensive follow-up and intermediaries for businesses with large invoice volumes. CEO Charles Vander Heyden described the product as making the recovery process simpler and more transparent.
