  Metri Bio is building therapeutics for endometrial diseases through a proprietary 3D human endometrial modeling platform spun out of research from the Sozen Lab at Yale. The technology replicates endometrial tissue in a laboratory setting, allowing researchers to study biological mechanisms that were previously inaccessible. This capability helps the team pinpoint molecular drivers of conditions such as endometriosis and generate next-generation drug candidates. The platform is designed as an integrated discovery and development system and is intended to extend beyond endometriosis to other endometrial pathologies. Led by CEO and founder Ashley Abel, the company plans to broaden its research and development programs and grow its team. Metri Bio recently secured $5 million in pre-seed funding, providing its first institutional capital to support these initiatives.

  Skeletalis is developing next-generation therapeutics aimed at musculoskeletal disorders, with an initial focus on osteoporosis. Its lead small-molecule candidate employs a proprietary bone-targeting technology that delivers disease-modulating therapy directly to skeletal tissue, minimizing systemic exposure. By re-engineering drug engagement with bone targets, the company seeks to improve tolerability, extend therapeutic durability, and ultimately prevent fractures while preserving bone mineral density. The approach is designed to avoid the safety liabilities associated with current osteoporosis drugs. Skeletalis is led by founder and CEO Ben Swanson, DDS, PhD, working alongside Dr. Colin Greineder. The recently secured financing will fund advancement of the osteoporosis candidate through pre-clinical and early clinical development.
