RenewCred is a climate-tech startup focused on overhauling carbon markets by launching a fully digital, science-driven carbon credit standard and registry for India. The platform connects continuous data streams with scientific models and automated compliance checks, cutting verification timelines by about 75 % and slashing transaction costs by more than 50 % compared with legacy systems. By addressing key pain points—lack of trust, opaque data, slow verification, high costs, and fragmented accountability—the company seeks to unlock credible, technology-enabled infrastructure for emissions trading. RenewCred’s mission is to remove two gigatons of greenhouse-gas emissions from the atmosphere within the next 14 years. Its technology is designed to comply with India’s Carbon Credit Trading Scheme, where each credit represents one tonne of CO₂ equivalent reduced or removed. The recent seed round provides capital to accelerate product development, expand scientific integrations and onboard industry participants to its registry.
