- mediarithmics
Led · Equity · Jan 2023
mediarithmics is a customer data platform that helps large enterprise clients compile customer databases and perform audience segmentation. Its APIs and SDKs let marketing teams embed tools into existing frameworks, and its customer segmentation tool processes large volumes of online and offline data to build anonymised but identifiable customer profiles. Those profiles can be used to personalise outreach across email, social media and push notifications. The company is targeting media, retail and data-centric customers and has expanded across Europe with five branch offices and clients including TF1, Canal+, Channel 4, Orange and Bouygues Telecom. Founded in 2013 by CTO Stéphane Dugelay and led since 2022 by CEO Gilles Chetelat, mediarithmics raised €7 million in its latest round, bringing total investment to €20 million. The new capital is expected to support its growth plans and double down on the product roadmap as European privacy changes reduce reliance on cookies. Mediarithmics, founded in 2013 and based in Paris with an office in London, is an end-to-end data marketing platform that enables brands to launch personalised, cross-channel marketing campaigns in real time using programmatic technologies. The platform helps publishers and e-commerce sites protect, structure and leverage the value of their data and is fully compliant with European data legislation. The company operates across 16 European countries and the US and employs more than 60 people. Major clients include BlaBlaCar, Coca‑Cola European Partners, and Fnac Darty; it also provides services to Gravity, a large data alliance of 16 French media and telco leaders. Mediarithmics intends to use the new funds to accelerate international expansion with a special focus on the UK and broader Europe. The French team is expected to be strengthened with roughly 20 new hires planned by the end of 2020. mediarithmics offers an open, integrated and modular cloud technology that lets users orchestrate personalized marketing campaigns across programmatic advertising, email and websites. Its platform includes a Data Management Platform (DMP) for data collection and analysis, a Demand-Side Platform (DSP) module and a Dynamic Creative Optimization (DCO) module for real-time banner customization. The technology enables publishers and advertising companies to better value their data assets, allows advertisers to collect customer and prospect data for campaign activation, and supports data alliances while preserving each actor's data ownership and contribution measurement. The company was created in 2013 by Stéphane Dugelay and is based in Paris. Customers include BlaBlaCar, Coca-Cola European Partners, ShowRoomPrivé, Prisma Media, Altice Media and others. mediarithmics intends to use the new funding to accelerate commercial development among publishers and advertising agencies across major European countries and to strengthen its teams with about a dozen hires.
