RealConnex is a platform that connects real estate professionals with capital, investments and services. The company describes itself as “Match.com meets LinkedIn for the real estate professional,” offering a real-time dashboard that organizes member activity and collaboration rooms for project teams. It reports a community of 65,000 active users, a database of 200,000 companies, individuals and funds, and 9,000 listed investment opportunities across all stages. Founded by Roy Abrams and now four years old, RealConnex operates out of Miami and New York. The product focuses on connecting people who work on real estate projects both before listings and while projects are in progress to streamline finding partners, lenders and developers. Financially, the company has raised a total of $10.2 million to date following the latest strategic funding. RealConnex operates an online platform that links the entire real estate ecosystem, enabling users to find capital, lenders, services and opportunities in real time. The site includes an integrated CRM, secure verification procedures, and networking and collaboration tools to streamline deal-making. Since launching a couple of weeks before the announcement, the company has reported rapid early growth and was named one of the top 150 new startups at Web Summit in Dublin. RealConnex plans to use new funding to accelerate its domestic rollout, drive global expansion and hire top talent. The platform already has $1.5 billion in available equity registered, and Star Capital is creating a $100 million opportunistic fund to finance projects listed on RealConnex. CEO Roy Abrams and advisors including Kevin Eyres are leading the company’s expansion efforts. RealConnex, based in New York and Aventura, Florida, has launched its platform in open beta. Led by CEO and Founder Roy Abrams and Joseph Stecher, Chief Capital Markets Strategy Officer, the site provides tools to search for and connect with capital sources, investment opportunities, development partners and service providers based on detailed criteria. The platform matches service providers to project requirements generated by real estate developers, general partners, sponsors, investors, owners and operators, and offers a range of CRM tools. A real-time dashboard organizes members' activities and reports on interactions with other members, projects and services, while collaboration rooms serve as centralized meeting spaces for project parties. The company has secured approximately $1.4M in seed funding to date and plans to raise $7M in a Series A financing round during the summer of 2014. Backers for the seed round were not disclosed.
