The technology targets sepsis, aiming to provide clinicians earlier detection of organ dysfunction and guidance for interventions such as fluid resuscitation. Opticyte says the global addressable market for the Cell O2 Monitor is $3.4 billion. The company is a 2016 University of Washington spinoff headquartered in Seattle and is led by Co‑Founder and CEO Lori Arakaki, PhD. Opticyte plans a prospective observational study at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle in 2021 to evaluate clinical performance. The business has secured combined private and grant funding to advance development and clinical evaluation.
