Founded in 2022 by Sharene Lee and Morrad Irsane, Takadao operates a Web3 platform that delivers bankless, Shariah-compliant financial alternatives. Its flagship Takadao protocol powers The LifeDAO, giving members access to a DeFi wallet, a cooperative life protection fund, non-custodial investment pools, and a financial-education hub. The LifeDAO currently holds around US$1 million in total value locked, and all surpluses are redistributed to members. Takadao has also launched The LifeCard, a prepaid VISA card that lets users spend stablecoins like cash, provides profit sharing from fees, round-up micro-investing, and 0% interest micro-loans. All deposits remain user-owned, reinforcing the cooperative model. Fresh capital will support expansion in markets where the company already has traction, including Southeast Asia, France, the UK, and the US. To date, the company has raised a total of US$3.1 million.
