Grip Security offers a SaaS security control plane that helps enterprises discover which SaaS tools employees use, visualize associated identities, and automate safe user access management to reduce SaaS identity risk. Since launching in 2021, the company has sharpened its messaging around SaaS identity risk and positioned its product for large enterprises. Grip reports bookings growth of over 400% year-over-year, counts a number of Fortune 500 companies as customers, and has tripled its employee roster. The company plans to use new capital to expand its go-to-market organization—with a particular focus on growth in the U.S.—and to grow R&D teams in its home base in Israel and in the United States. Product expansion plans include additional offerings and a soon-to-launch capability to enforce multifactor authentication across SaaS products. CEO Lior Yaari emphasizes visibility and automation as the primary levers to reduce identity-related security exposure. Grip Security offers a SaaS Security Control Plane that helps organizations discover, prioritize, secure and orchestrate compliance and risk management across all SaaS regardless of device. The platform unifies control points, telemetry, analytics and operations to enable a business‑led IT strategy while simplifying SaaS security operations with built‑in automation. Grip’s purpose‑built solution leverages existing infrastructure and delivers out‑of‑the‑box automation to reduce operational complexity. The company plans to use new funding to accelerate a channel‑led growth strategy. Driven largely by channel growth, Grip expects to triple its bookings from the previous fiscal year. Grip Security builds a SaaS security platform that discovers and protects enterprise data across SaaS applications. The service promises a full SaaS inventory within 15 minutes of installation without agents or proxies. Grip has shown rapid customer and user growth — the number of users the product covers grew tenfold every quarter — and has signed customers ranging from Fortune 500 enterprises to small startups. The team says it is expanding its product beyond discovery into enforceable, comprehensive access management to address day-to-day access issues. Grip plans to launch that access-management solution in the coming months. Financially, the company has raised a total of $25 million to date, including a $19 million Series A announced in this article. Grip Security offers enterprises full visibility into their SaaS portfolios through enforceable, endpoint-centric access controls and cross-device data governance. Its non-intrusive solution does not install agents on user devices or corporate networks; instead it follows the footprints left by SaaS applications to identify usage. The product is designed to travel with users so policies apply regardless of device or location. The founding team includes CEO Lior Yaari, CTO Idan Fast and VP R&D Alon Shenkler, all with deep cybersecurity backgrounds. Grip plans to use its recent funding to build out the platform with additional access governance and data governance capabilities for applications. The company currently has about 15 employees and aims to grow to 20–25 within the next year. It raised a $6 million seed round to support these product and hiring plans.
- Noname Security
Participated · Series B · Jun 2021
Noname Security provides tools to proactively discover and remediate API security issues by analyzing configuration settings, network traffic and code. The company aims to prevent API misuse that can expose or exfiltrate sensitive data. It is headquartered in Palo Alto and says it now supports one-fifth of Fortune 500 companies. Noname has more than 200 employees after tripling headcount in the past six months. The startup plans to use its latest funding to expand research and development and improve its go-to-market strategy. To date the company has raised $220 million and has exceeded a $1 billion valuation following the Series C. Noname Security offers a holistic API security platform that uses AI and machine learning to enable enterprises to see and secure managed, unmanaged, exposed, consumed, and internal APIs. The product is designed to eliminate API security blind spots and surface flaws that can go unnoticed for years. Since emerging from stealth in December 2020, Noname has grown to roughly 70 employees and maintains offices in Palo Alto and Tel Aviv. In six months since launch the company has signed 40 technology, reseller and channel partners and has “hundreds” of enterprise customers in production or trial. Management says it will accelerate growth by expanding sales, marketing, customer success and R&D teams. To date the company has raised $85 million in total funding. Noname Security provides an agentless, holistic security platform that gives enterprises visibility, security and control over managed, unmanaged, exposed, consumed, and internal APIs. The platform integrates with existing IT infrastructure to surface activity and threats across any API, including those off corporate API gateways. Noname launched from stealth in December 2020 after raising $25M in funding. Backers listed in the launch coverage include Lightspeed, Insight Partners and Cyberstarts. The company was founded in 2020 by Oz Golan (CEO) with co-founder and CTO Shay Levi, both of whom served in Israel's Unit 8200.
