Overview
Noname Security provides tools to proactively discover and remediate API security issues by analyzing configuration settings, network traffic and code. The company aims to prevent API misuse that can expose or exfiltrate sensitive data. It is headquartered in Palo Alto and says it now supports one-fifth of Fortune 500 companies. Noname has more than 200 employees after tripling headcount in the past six months. The startup plans to use its latest funding to expand research and development and improve its go-to-market strategy. To date the company has raised $220 million and has exceeded a $1 billion valuation following the Series C. Noname Security offers a holistic API security platform that uses AI and machine learning to enable enterprises to see and secure managed, unmanaged, exposed, consumed, and internal APIs. The product is designed to eliminate API security blind spots and surface flaws that can go unnoticed for years. Since emerging from stealth in December 2020, Noname has grown to roughly 70 employees and maintains offices in Palo Alto and Tel Aviv. In six months since launch the company has signed 40 technology, reseller and channel partners and has “hundreds” of enterprise customers in production or trial. Management says it will accelerate growth by expanding sales, marketing, customer success and R&D teams. To date the company has raised $85 million in total funding. Noname Security provides an agentless, holistic security platform that gives enterprises visibility, security and control over managed, unmanaged, exposed, consumed, and internal APIs. The platform integrates with existing IT infrastructure to surface activity and threats across any API, including those off corporate API gateways. Noname launched from stealth in December 2020 after raising $25M in funding. Backers listed in the launch coverage include Lightspeed, Insight Partners and Cyberstarts. The company was founded in 2020 by Oz Golan (CEO) with co-founder and CTO Shay Levi, both of whom served in Israel's Unit 8200. Noname is based in Palo Alto, California and also maintains an office in Tel Aviv.
