    Participated · Series A · Feb 2023

GIMO provides on-demand payroll services for blue-collar workers in Vietnam. The company reported 24x year-on-year revenue growth and an 11x year-on-year increase in transaction volume. Leadership says the fresh capital will bolster product innovation that appeals to underserved workers. Its team has been incubating a suite of digital financial solutions and expects to launch them in the months to come. GIMO previously raised a US$1.9 million seed extension in 2021. The company is also in the process of raising debt capital. Gimo is a Hanoi, Vietnam–based fintech offering on-demand pay for blue-collar workers through a mobile app integrated with employers' payroll systems. Led by CEO Nguyen Anh Quan and officially rolled out in early 2021, the app lets users access earned salary instantly, track workdays and daily earnings in real time, and receive personal finance tips. To date Gimo has provided on-demand pay for more than 25,000 workers, mainly in manufacturing and retail sectors. The company plans to build a broader digital financial platform to help blue-collar workers organize paychecks, spending, savings and investments. Gimo intends to use new funding to expand operations, hire senior engineers, strengthen risk management, grow its business across Southeast Asia, and integrate data analytics and artificial intelligence to enhance customer experiences. Earlier in March the company received an undisclosed seed round from ThinkZone Ventures, BK Fund and a group of angel investors, and has now completed a $1.9M Seed+ round.

Edupia operates an online learning platform that began as an English self-learning product and now offers live classes and private tutoring alongside its core self-study content. The company serves 5 million total users with 400,000 paying students and reported it is on track to exceed a $100 million revenue target within three years. Edupia launched live classes in March 2021 and runs both self-learning and live-class/tutoring models concurrently, using self-study as the initial user touchpoint before upsells. It reaches all 64 provinces in Vietnam via a national sales team and a network of thousands of micro‑KOLs, and organizes students into 60‑student learning groups while each teacher can manage up to 2,000 students nationwide. The startup is expanding subject offerings beyond English to include math and coding and is moving into Southeast Asian markets such as Indonesia, Thailand and Myanmar. Management plans for the new capital include upgrading the tutoring platform, hiring C‑level and senior managers, and accelerating international expansion.
