EnBiotix is a late-clinical-stage rare disease company focused on chronic respiratory disorders, including cystic fibrosis, non-CF bronchiectasis and NTM lung disease. Its core programs include ColiFin®, an inhaled colistimethate sodium product in-licensed from PARI Pharma for worldwide rights outside Europe, and an inhaled murepavidin program currently in Phase 1. ColiFin® has been approved in select European countries since 2010 and EnBiotix plans to advance it into global Phase 3 trials in 2022. The company closed an $11M pre-merger convertible note financing to support its clinical programs and corporate activities. Proceeds will fund confirmatory long-term safety studies for ColiFin, obligations related to the Phase 1 inhaled murepavidin study, R&D across its pipeline, and legal, accounting and other expenses tied to a planned merger. EnBiotix is also negotiating exclusively with Vectura on a potential strategic alliance to advance its inhaled drug portfolio and accelerate development and commercialization. EnBiotix is a product-focused bioengineering company developing novel antibiotics and potentiators by applying synthetic and systems biology approaches. Its technologies, developed by Prof. James J. Collins, aim to expand the spectrum and resistance profile of existing antibiotic classes. The company’s pipeline includes EBX-001 (an inhaled tobramycin plus metabolite potentiator for P. aeruginosa in CF, non-CF bronchiectasis and COPD), EBX-002 (an aminoglycoside plus potentiator IV piggyback for catheter-associated UTIs) and EPP-001 (an engineered bacteriophage with biofilm‑degrading enzyme payloads for prosthetic joint infections). EBX-001 is positioned to target bacterial persisters and large patient populations, while EBX-002 and EPP-001 address significant hospital and surgical infection markets. EnBiotix has completed a Series A financing and entered a strategic joint venture to support commercialization in Latin America. Under the Brazil agreement, Wired Holdings will provide strategic, regulatory and commercial assistance while EnBiotix retains rights to its compounds outside Latin America; additional financing terms remain confidential.
