  Extracellular provides R&D and bioprocess development capabilities to accelerate development and scale-up for cultivated meat companies, operating as an industry CDMO. The company runs research facilities at Science Creates in Bristol and employs 12 full-time scientists and engineers with expertise in cell culturing, bioprocessing, analytics and data science. Its installed capacity includes 200L of bioreactor volume and the ability to produce kilograms of cultivated meat. Extracellular has raised funding to establish high-throughput media development and bioprocess capabilities and has secured over $1.9 million to date. With the new capital, the company plans to scale bioprocess development to 2,000L in a food-grade facility, invest in advanced digital process development models, and pursue profit-driven international expansion. Leadership states an ambition to become the world-leading CDMO for cultivated meat by horizontally integrating capabilities across partners.
