- Ubiq Security
Participated · Seed · Nov 2020
Ubiq Security offers an API-first developer platform that removes traditional complexities of encryption and key management, enabling developers and security teams to integrate data encryption into applications in minutes with a few lines of code and two API calls. The platform supports encryption across diverse applications, programming languages, cloud environments, and storage types. A centralized dashboard lets teams select proven encryption models and policies, manage keys, and view a complete log of key access and activity. Key storage is FIPS 140-2 Level 3 compliant. Led by CEO Wias Issa and headquartered in San Diego, the company targets developer and infosec teams that lack cryptography expertise. Ubiq plans to use the new funding to accelerate platform development, expand developer relations, and drive customer acquisition.

Bandar Foods is a Philadelphia- and San Francisco-based maker of Indian-inspired snackables and condiments, led by Lalit Kalani and Dan Garblik. Its product lineup includes Naan chips, Poppadum chips and Indian-style condiments. The company added Indian-American chef Floyd Cardoz as a culinary advisor. Bandar Foods is a 2015 graduate of AccelFoods, an early-stage fund and accelerator for packaged food & beverage brands. The company closed a $2m seed funding round and intends to use the proceeds to expand retail presence, grow the team and provide working capital. Investors in the round included ACP, AccelFoods, Volta Global and Karl Ulrich. Bandar Foods makes ethnic condiments and snack products, focused on adapting Indian flavors for everyday American use. The company invented the squeezable Indian chutney format and launched its first two condiments in May 2013. Within its first year on shelves it expanded into more than 1,000 stores across the US, Canada and the UAE, with distribution in chains including Whole Foods, Safeway and Fresh Market. Bandar has since expanded its condiment line and introduced poppadum lentil crisps. The company received convertible debt financing of an undisclosed amount led by Karl Ulrich and August Capital Partners to fund growth. Management intends to use the proceeds to grow sales and execute 2014 initiatives including new condiment and crisp flavors, expansion into US foodservice, and additional brand extensions.
