Czech Republic-based GreyCortex develops Mendel, a network traffic analysis and forensics solution suite for medium and large companies. The company raised $1.3M in its first round of funding from Y Soft Ventures. It intends to use the funds to strengthen R&D and customer support teams and to speed development of new product features and capabilities. GreyCortex was formed in May 2016 by the product team that developed Mendel at TrustPort and is led by CEO Petr Chaloupka. Mendel provides intelligent threat identification, rapid response, and a detailed overview of network traffic and is already used by customers such as the Mexican University UACM and the Czech National Security Authority. The company purchased the technology and rights from TrustPort, part of the Cleverlance Group.

The firm intends to use the funds to expand international sales and broaden its product offering, commercializing its GPU JPEG2000 technology for UHD and professional imaging workflows.
