Overview

4INFO offers a proprietary, patent-pending mobile attribution platform (AdHaven Bullseye) that anonymously matches mobile device data to household-level purchase data to measure actual sales results from mobile ad spend. Launched in March 2013, AdHaven Bullseye has powered campaigns for more than 75 national brands and reported sales increases between 5–20%, ROI averaging 382% and as high as 600%, and market-share gains versus competitors. The company says its brand ad revenue tripled in 2013 over 2012 and its technology has tied 152 million mobile devices to 101 million U.S. households. 4INFO collaborates with third-party purchase and lifestyle data providers including Acxiom, Nielsen, and Nielsen Catalina Solutions. Headquartered in San Mateo, California with offices in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago and Boston, 4INFO has been on the forefront of mobile innovation since 2004. The company is pursuing continued revenue growth and rapid expansion. 4INFO provides the AdHaven Bullseye product platform to help brands extend audience targeting from offline and the traditional Web into mobile. Bullseye allows users to identify and target segments from certified data partners, including Nielsen Catalina Solutions and Datalogix, and leverages proprietary mobile consumer demographic and behavioral data. The company said it will use the $8M in funding to add innovative functionality to its platform, hire new people, and advance business development activities. Launched in 2004 and led by CEO Tim Jenkins, 4INFO is headquartered in San Mateo, California. It also maintains offices in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago and Boston. The company counts existing investors such as Draper Fisher Jurvetson, Gannett, Mezzanine Capital and U.S. Venture Partners. 4INFO operates the AdHaven mobile advertising platform and delivers mobile advertising in all forms. The company was launched in 2004 and is based in San Mateo. 4INFO has a history of mobile media innovation, having created the industry’s first mobile search engine, consumer SMS alerts, and enterprise SMS publishing for major digital media companies including Yahoo!, AOL and IAC. The company intends to use additional capital to support growth in the mobile advertising market. To support that growth, 4INFO has secured external financing to provide working capital. Management described the financing as a partnership that will help the company navigate its explosive growth. Founded in 2005, 4INFO runs msgHaven, an SMS publishing platform with roughly 3,000 publishers that delivers around 400 million text messages per month (a volume that doubled in the past year). The company expanded into mobile display and app advertising with its AdHaven Mobile Audience Platform, which the firm says now reaches about 90 million uniques per month. AdHaven includes a next-generation mobile ad server, targeting and data management capabilities, and can serve campaigns across mobile web, rich media, video, apps, tablets, and SMS. 4INFO is spinning out AdHaven as a separate company following the product’s traction. The company purchased Butter last year to bolster its mobile solutions and creative capabilities. 4INFO is profitable and plans to use new funding to expand AdHaven, pursue strategic acquisitions, and grow internationally. San Mateo-based 4INFO, founded in 2004, provides technology and services for targeted mobile SMS advertising and consumer alerts. Under a new deal with NBC Universal, 4INFO will become NBCU’s preferred mobile SMS advertising partner. The company’s technology enables dynamic, targeted advertising in text messaging and allows NBCU to supplement alerts with 4INFO services such as health tips, fantasy sports statistics, and custom user-defined alerts. The financing comes from Peacock Equity, the NBC-GE joint venture; the amount of that investment was not disclosed. This is 4INFO’s fifth financing round; the company raised an $8M Series C in March 2005 and a $10M Series D in June of this year. Existing investors include Draper Fisher Jurvetson, Gannett Company, Sand Hill Capital, and U.S. Venture Partners.
