Captain T Cell

Willy-Brandt-Platz 2, Berlin, 12529, Germany

Overview

Captain T Cell is a biotech spin-off from the Max Delbrück Center for Molecular Medicine that is building a pipeline of tumour-targeting TCR-T cell therapies. Its lead autologous candidate, CTC127, targets the MAGE-A4 antigen and will enter the TOMATA Phase I trial across nine German cancer centres, addressing lung, bladder, gastro-oesophageal, ovarian, and head-and-neck cancers. The company’s engineering “toolbox” adds functional armouring to T cells to enhance anti-tumour activity, persistence, and resilience within the solid-tumour microenvironment. In parallel, Captain T Cell is advancing a first-in-class allogeneic “off-the-shelf” TCR-T platform that has shown complete tumour responses in pre-clinical in-vivo studies. Management also plans to extend the toolbox toward in-vivo T-cell therapy applications. With the newly secured capital, the TOMATA trial is fully funded and the allogeneic program is positioned for clinical readiness, giving the firm multiple upcoming value-inflection points. Including earlier grants, Captain T Cell now has €20 million of available funding to execute its near-term clinical plans.
