Overview

Closinglock offers a platform for secure wire-instruction exchanges, identity verification, document sharing and its Good Funds Payments tool for desktop and mobile earnest-money and cash-to-close transfers. The company says it has protected more than 1 million home sales totaling over $500 billion and that Good Funds Payments has facilitated over $600 million in transfers. Closinglock reports having prevented roughly $1.24 billion in losses by stopping more than 8,250 fraud attempts and generated over 400,000 identity reports with an upgraded identity-verification feature. Annual revenues have grown more than 25x over the past three years, and the company doubled its Austin headcount to 73 in 2024 while securing a new downtown office and planning further hires in 2025. Closinglock has partnerships with J.P. Morgan and DocuSign, a recently enhanced insurance policy covering verified transfers up to $2.5 million, and plans to evolve and expand its product suite to counter the rising threat of AI-driven and deepfake fraud. Closinglock offers a centralized payments and fraud-prevention portal that houses wiring instructions, secure document exchange, identity verification, and payment management for title and settlement companies. The platform replaces insecure email-based wiring instructions to reduce wire-fraud risk in real estate transactions. The company says it works with thousands of settlement agents and has protected over $250 billion of transactions. Founded in 2017, Closinglock has grown to 35 employees and reports revenue that doubled or tripled each year. It began by bootstrapping, raised a $4M seed in early 2023, and recently closed a Series A. The company plans to deploy new capital into product and technology development, hiring, and fintech work to enable safer movement of real estate funds. Closinglock offers a secure portal and workflow platform designed to modernize real estate transactions and prevent wire fraud. Its product suite includes secure wire instructions, document sharing, eSignature, and loan payoff verifications in a single platform. The company introduced its first secure portal in 2018 and has expanded its offerings since. Closinglock serves large title companies, home builders, and real estate attorneys, protecting hundreds of thousands of transactions totaling over $100 billion in value. The platform is used by more than 3,000 real estate escrow professionals and has clients across all 50 states and 42 countries. Closinglock says it will use new funding to expand teams across sales, customer success, and product development and has plans to build a comprehensive platform for managing the entire transaction closing process.
