Conta Simples provides expense management technology and corporate cards, with streamlined expense control and customized monitoring for business customers. The company reported 30,000 active users and has issued 500,000 physical and digital corporate credit cards, processing R$18 billion (roughly $3 billion) in payment volume. Conta Simples said 2023 was its best year, with revenue growing almost 3x year-over-year and the business reaching breakeven. It also obtained a license from the Brazilian Central Bank to operate as a Direct Credit Society, enabling expanded credit, digital accounts and payments capabilities. In 2022 the company acquired online-ads startup Hackr Ads, which allowed ad customers to use Conta’s services. Conta Simples plans to use the new funding to hire about 100 roles in 2024, build more features and products, and move upstream to serve larger and mid-level customers, including developing buy-now-pay-later and other offerings over the next three to five years.
