Domainex is a privately owned drug discovery company founded in 2002 and based in Cambridge, UK. It develops small-molecule programs supported by a discovery platform built around Combinatorial Domain Hunting (CDH), LeadBuilder virtual screening, and integrated medicinal and computational chemistry. The company also operates a service business that recently won new translational-research contracts with UK universities. Its internal development programs focus on kinase targets TBK1/IKKe and an epigenetics portfolio targeting lysine methyltransferases. Management says it is approaching selection of a clinical candidate for the TBK1/IKKe programme and will use part of the new investment to move that programme toward an out-licensing deal; the majority of funds will progress the epigenetics portfolio. Three compounds from Domainex collaborations are in clinical evaluation and two additional drugs are in preclinical studies. Domainex is a biopharmaceutical company.
