Dronus designs, produces and deploys systems aerei a pilotaggio remoto (remote-piloted aerial systems) centered on its patented Nest drone-in-a-box, a suspended aerial base that automates takeoff, landing and battery recharge for autonomous, repeatable missions. The Nest approach treats each base as a replicable node to create distributed airborne infrastructure for continuous inspections and monitoring across industrial sites, logistics, smart-city and oil & gas applications. The platform is engineered for 24/7 BVLOS operation, leverages AI and precision optical cameras, and includes drone models with ATEX certification and an attestato di inoffensività for safer urban operations. Dronus was founded in 2018, is headquartered in Trieste and has a multidisciplinary team of over 30 people. The company has partnerships with Eni and Qualcomm and is running deployments including a monitoring initiative in Singapore with HTX and a 5G Smart Factory trial with Ericsson in the U.S. The recent €15 million raise will fund completion of Nest’s development, new AI features and the scaling of the platform’s data-management and transmission capabilities to support international expansion and deeper industrial adoption.
