Empromptu

San Francisco, CA, United States

Overview

Empromptu is an AI service that lets enterprise users, even those without technical backgrounds, build and ship AI-enabled software by conversing with a chatbot. A customer can request an HTML or JavaScript app in plain language and the system automatically generates the code, while optional large-language-model (LLM) tooling enables fine-tuning and customization. The platform also supports adding AI features to an existing codebase and includes built-in evaluation, governance, reliability, and self-improvement features so the resulting software is production-ready. Co-founded by serial entrepreneur Sheena Leven and AI researcher Sean Robinson, Empromptu positions itself as the step beyond “vibe coding,” competing with offerings like Replit. Near-term product plans include developing additional proprietary technology and deepening support for customers in regulated or highly complex industries such as hospitality. The company intends to accelerate hiring across engineering and product to execute on this roadmap. To date, Empromptu has secured $2 million in outside capital, which funds its early operations and growth.
