EpiGaN is a Leuven, Belgium–based spin-off of imec that develops GaN-on-Si epitaxial material for power-management and clean-transport applications. The company was founded in 2010 by Dr Marianne Germain (CEO), Dr Joff Derluyn (CTO) and Dr Stefan Degroote (COO). Its GaN-on-Si technology is positioned to enhance power management efficiency, support renewable energy deployment, and enable cleaner transportation solutions. The firm intends to use the recently raised funds to start volume production of its GaN-on-Si wafers. No operating metrics were disclosed in the article.
