Epoca publishes an open remote monitoring platform that uses connected medical devices to collect continuous health data for elderly and complex patients. Collected data is analysed by medical and paramedical care managers who are available 24/7 to assess patients and design personalised care plans. The company was founded in 2019 by geriatric doctor Elise Cabanes and nurse Mariana Fernandes to enable more patients to be cared for at home instead of in emergency settings. Epoca integrates connected objects and medical devices into its workflow and pairs technology with clinical staff to deliver remote homecare. With the fresh capital, the company plans to expand deployment beyond homes into independent residences, EHPADs and hospitals. Epoca aims to monitor almost 2,000 patients by the end of 2023 and currently employs 30 people, including 15 healthcare professionals.
