Founded in Zurich in 2021, EthonAI builds software that helps manufacturers turn unstructured factory data into actionable insights. Its flagship Inspector product is trained on images of defect-free items and then flags surface defects during assembly, automating visual quality control. Beyond vision, the platform merges data from sensors, line stops and other factory systems to highlight bottlenecks and compare performance across multiple sites. Early customers include Siemens, Lindt and an unnamed leading semiconductor producer that uses the tool to correlate process parameters with yield. Semiconductor fabrication, where wafer defects can destroy margins, is a key target market. By illuminating hidden relationships in production data, the company positions AI as essential to operational excellence in modern manufacturing. EthonAI has now secured CHF 15 million ($16.5 million) in Series A funding to expand its product and customer base.
