Overview

Everplans provides an online platform that guides users through creating, storing, and sharing estate and legacy plans, aggregating financial, health, personal, digital, and legacy information. The product includes a content library, articles, resources, and checklists to help users assemble their plans. In May 2015 the company launched Everplans Professional, an enterprise version that enables financial advisors, insurance agents, and estate-planning attorneys to offer accounts to clients and collaborate on plans. More than 100 firms are currently offering Everplans to clients. The company is led by Adam Seifer and Abby Schneiderman. Everplans intends to use new funding to grow its team, continue product development, and expand its professional platform into the insurance, human resources, and health care industries. Everplans is an online service that helps people create end-of-life plans and links users to service providers who can assist with post-death logistics. Its initial consumer-facing product has attracted roughly 10,000 users building end-of-life plans. After inbound interest from financial advisers and insurers, the company developed a white-label, co-branded version that allows advisers to integrate Everplans and link to their own products. Everplans plans to bring the adviser/service-provider product to market in the new year and is already in discussions with potential institutional partners. To date the company has raised $6.2 million in financing, including a recent undisclosed commitment from Generator Ventures, the venture arm affiliated with Aging 2.0. Formation Capital backs the company, and Yodlee CEO Anil Arora has joined the board to help reach enterprise customers. Everplans provides a platform where users can create and save detailed end-of-life plans and initiate services such as life insurance and wills through preferred providers. The company began as a content provider with advice and a blog and shifted to a functional planning product after a personal family loss experienced by a founder. Premium members can upload scanned documents to their Everplans and invite multiple deputies to access accounts, while free accounts can indicate physical document locations and invite two deputies. With its announced financing, Everplans is launching an enterprise version to let life insurers and other partners offer co-branded Everplans services to customers. The product changes were funded in part by a second tranche of seed investment; the company previously raised roughly $1.4M in an earlier seed round to build its planning architecture. Everplans was founded by Abby Schneiderman and Adam Seifer and is based in New York.
