Fiducial started in 2022 as a student project out of TU Delft and has since evolved into a defence-oriented dronetechnology company staffed largely by TU Delft alumni. The company develops computer-vision and software capabilities that allow drones to operate and be controlled in environments where conventional systems fail or are constrained. Its technology has been validated in combat conditions and is being integrated by drone partners active on European frontlines. A large European aircraft manufacturer is among the users of its technology, and Fiducial has expanded its offerings from industrial inspection to defence use cases over the past year. With the recent €2 million financing and Rabobank loan, the company plans to reinforce its role as a technology partner for both European drone producers and civil customers. Fiducial shifted to a defence focus amid developments in Ukraine and perceived needs to strengthen European defence capabilities.
