Flomark
444 Waterside, Waterside, Chesham, Buckinghamshire, HP5 1QE, United Kingdom
Overview
Flomark is a spin-out from the Royal College of Art developing a sterile, single-use flow meter that provides accurate data on IV infusion flow rates and urine output. The device fits standard gravity IV sets and uses a red ball and scale to display flow rate in millilitres per hour at a glance, reducing the need for manual drip counting. The product is intended to save nurses time and improve patient safety by ensuring more accurate fluid delivery. Flomark has secured £150,000 from British Design Fund and £150,000 from Imperial College Enterprise Fund, totaling £300,000. The funding will support launch of its first product later this year, continued R&D, and commercialization of a pipeline of devices in the coming years. The company emphasizes clinical impact in preventing complications such as hypovolemia and fluid overload and aims to bring the platform's capabilities to market.
