    Founded in 2020 as an Imperial College London spin-out, Nanomox has engineered a proprietary ionic-liquid chemistry process that enables both precise production of metal-oxide nanoparticles and extraction of metals such as zinc, manganese and copper from waste ores and residues. The technology delivers fine control over particle crystallinity, shape and size, unlocking performance gains for applications in UV protection, electronics and catalysis. Its first commercial focus is ultra-transparent zinc oxide for mineral sunscreens, with a product launch planned for Q3 2026 following record-clarity lab tests. Nanomox also targets the $9 billion market in recoverable zinc from electric arc furnace dust and other industrial by-products. Proceeds from its seed round are funding “Catalyst 1,” a pilot plant and R&D hub that will ramp production to multi-tonne per-month volumes to supply early cosmetics partners. The company operates from London and continues to collaborate closely with Imperial College researchers. No revenue or user metrics have been disclosed, but the recent £2.4 million infusion extends earlier non-dilutive support from Imperial and Innovate UK.

Its prosthetics are lightweight, comfortable, suitable for very young children, and feature interchangeable tools driven by user feedback. The company links new users with limb buddies and distributes via clinicians, NGOs and direct-to-consumer channels. Koalaa was founded in 2020, employs a team of 18 people, and has around 1,000 users worldwide. The team plans to continue increasing global access, expand work with clinicians and NGOs, and increase supply of prosthetics to those within conflict zones. New funding will support ongoing product development and growth of the team in the UK and overseas and advance efforts to make products available through the NHS. Koalaa, founded in 2020 and based in west London, develops soft, lightweight prosthetic arms and sleeves designed for babies, children and adults. Its sleeves are made from soft, lightweight materials and are flexible compared with heavy, rigid traditional prosthetics; they can be fitted with interchangeable tool attachments for tasks such as holding a pen, cutting, riding a bike, or playing instruments, and can be used by children as young as one year old. Koalaa operates a 'virtual clinic' model that allows remote measuring, fitting and supply, and provides wearers with community support including a 'limb buddy'. The company secured €145K from British Design Fund under the EIS scheme as its first institutional investment following an angel round in May 2020. The funds will be used to increase manufacturing capacity at its west London facility to meet rising demand, and Koalaa plans to commercialise early rehabilitation soft prosthetic sleeves to aid recovery immediately after amputation. Koalaa also intends to begin launching products and services in select countries across Asia, the Middle East, Africa and North America.

NK:IO was founded in December 2020 by Hugh J M Brady, Matt Fuchter, and Mike Romanos; its Board is chaired by Keith Thompson CBE. The company is advancing its candidates through preclinical development and is working with the Cell and Gene Therapy Catapult to develop a manufacturing process. Financially, NK:IO has secured equity and non‑dilutive grant funding to support these programs, including recent seed financing and Innovate UK awards.
