    Mindgard operationalizes AI security research and offensive-security expertise through a Security Platform that performs Shadow AI discovery, AI red teaming, and run-time AI protection across models, agents, and applications. The company was spun out of over a decade of AI security research at Lancaster University and is headquartered in Boston and London. Mindgard's platform has been used to uncover and publicly disclose more than 150 high-impact security and safety vulnerabilities in widely used AI products, including a zero-day code execution vulnerability in Cursor IDE, a trusted workspace flaw in Google Antigravity, and image-generation guardrail failures in ChatGPT. Its customer base includes a large number of Fortune 2000 companies and AI innovators across financial services, pharmaceuticals, gaming, digital services, semiconductors, and healthcare. The company plans to scale product, engineering, sales, and marketing following its $30M Series A to meet significant enterprise demand.

  • Nuclear Turbines

    Nuclear Turbines aims to reduce the cost of nuclear power by replacing traditional steam turbine systems with highly efficient high-temperature turbine technology typically used in jet engines and gas-fired power plants, combined with a novel nuclear reactor design. Its compact systems are intended to be deployable "behind the meter" at industrial sites, data centres and manufacturing facilities. The company says this approach can lower generation costs to around one-fifth of today’s nuclear plants and builds on advancements in small modular reactors to address cost and scale challenges. Founded in 2025 and spun out of BAE Systems in partnership with Empirical Ventures' venture studio, the startup is led by Jeremy Owston and Professor Tim Abram. Following a £15m funding round led by IQ Capital, the company plans to use the capital for design, constructing large-scale test rigs and hiring to expand the team.     QuantumDiamonds develops and plans to manufacture advanced measurement and test systems for the semiconductor industry using novel quantum sensors that enable high-resolution, three-dimensional inspection of modern chips. The company is building the first production site for these quantum-sensor-based systems in the EU, with an announced investment plan of €152 million. It secured a €76 million direct grant approved by the European Commission and expects additional public support from the German federal and Bavarian state governments. QuantumDiamonds has made operational commitments tied to the public support, including prioritizing orders during shortages, offering early access to parts of the facility to startups and academic labs, and sharing excess project-related profits with Germany. The project is positioned as contributing to European semiconductor supply security and to strengthening the EU value chain under the European Chips Act.
