Overview

Parkwalk is a London-based fund management firm. Parkwalk invests in UK technology companies that have IP backing and freedom to operate, generally spun out of UK universities. Their funds seek to generate capital gains for their investors, enhanced by the attractive tax relief provided by EIS. Parkwalk entered this investment sector in 2009, anticipating a wave of tax-efficient incentives launched by the UK Government to stimulate innovative emerging technology companies and thereby help drive economic growth. Parkwalk utilises academic, technology transfer, venture capital and personal networks developed over many years to gain access to the highest calibre deal-flow. In 2017 Parkwalk joined forces with IP Group plc, a leading intellectual property commercialisation company that is listed on the Main Market of the London Stock Exchange under the ticker symbol IPO. As at March 2019 the combined group has net assets of £1.2bn.

    Spun out of the University of Oxford in 2017, Moa Technology operates proprietary discovery platforms that have screened over 900,000 compounds and discovered more than 80 novel mode of action areas capable of breaking weed resistance. Several of its advanced programmes are now in their third year of international field trials, and in 2025 the company disclosed a new category of non-herbicidal products called Moa Amplifiers. Moa has established R&D collaborations with major industry partners including Nufarm, Gowan, Certis Belchim and Corteva Agriscience to progress commercial applications. The company plans to use its Series C proceeds and partner payments to push three lead programmes closer to commercialisation, expand its early-stage pipeline, and continue development of the Moa Amplifiers strategy. Its platform and commercial partnerships are positioned to support further industry deals and field deployment of its discoveries.

    Pixel-Flo is commercialising semiconductor photonics and display-industry research from the University of Sheffield to develop manufacturing technology for MicroLED displays. Its core process, called Continuous-Flow Mass Transfer, is based on fluidic self-assembly and is intended to enable higher-throughput production while reducing processing costs and material use. The company aims to address key manufacturing barriers that have limited broader adoption of MicroLED technology, which offers advantages in brightness and energy efficiency. Pixel-Flo plans industrial scale-up, team expansion, new lab and office facilities, and international growth following its seed raise. The company was founded by Dr Rick Smith, Dr Suneal Ghataora and Simon Jones and secured £5.25M in seed funding to support these plans.

The system is designed to identify alignment issues in real time, reducing production downtime and late-stage rework, particularly for high-value sectors such as aerospace. The company has relocated to the Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre in North Wales to deepen engagement with industrial partners and accelerate commercial deployment. Funding from the recent seed round will expand the engineering team, accelerate industrial trials and support early deployments. Headquartered in London, Quantum Motion also operates offices and labs in Spain, Australia and the US. Financially, the startup has raised over $200M to date, including a recent $160M Series C. The new funding is earmarked for commercialisation, continued research and development, and geographic expansion as the company scales its platform.

Its proprietary technology enables up to an 8x reduction in form factor compared with conventional systems. Anders Hakfelt is CEO and co-founder of Densix. Following its initial spin-out from Oxford, Densix has raised $4 million in seed funding to accelerate development, expand its team and strengthen its platform.
