EcoNomad Solutions develops the BioNomad, a patented decentralised anaerobic digestion system designed for small and mid-sized livestock farms to capture methane and convert organic waste into biogas and high-quality biofertiliser. The system targets dairy, beef, pig and poultry operations and can reduce energy and fertiliser costs — a typical smallholding of around 50 cows may cut expenditure by several thousand pounds per year. EcoNomad's technology is already installed on more than 10 UK farms, with further installations in Africa and trials integrating biogas with solar, wind and battery systems. The company is led by founder and CEO Dr Ilan Adler, who has over two decades of experience in environmental engineering and received early support via a Royal Academy of Engineering fellowship. EcoNomad plans to develop the BioNomad into a fully automated, plug-and-play product and focus on scaling commercial deployment across the UK before expanding into Europe and emerging markets. The recent £400K funding package (including grants and investment) will support product development and scaling activities.

Founded in July 2024 by Professor Klaus McDonald-Maier and Dr Vishwanathan Mohan, Versatile RobotX develops intelligent agricultural robots combining AI, machine vision, embedded intelligence and advanced robotic manipulation. The company offers two products: the Fruit and Vegetable Autonomous Picker for automated picking of produce, and the Hydroponic Robotic Harvester for harvesting and transplanting in soilless systems. Its technology has been validated through field trials with UK growers including Wilkin & Sons of Tiptree and JEPCO. Versatile RobotX positions its systems as low-cost, field-ready platforms and plans to expand its portfolio of multifunctional robotic systems. The company intends to pursue manufacturing readiness, customer engagement and commercial expansion, and to demonstrate Robotics-as-a-Service as an adoption route for farms of varying sizes.

LabCycle is a UK-based startup developing AutoDecon, a system designed to safely recycle contaminated laboratory plastics into high-grade resources without using high heat or pressure. The company's stated mission is to create a circular economy for single-use lab plastics and significantly reduce carbon emissions from current incineration practices. LabCycle was co-founded by Dr Helen Liang, whose PhD work inspired the effort, and is led by co-founder & CEO Colin Francis. It currently operates under commercial contracts with the NHS, private companies and universities. The company has received industry recognition, including CleanTech Startup of the Year at the UK Startup Awards and awards for recycled Petri dishes and recycling initiatives within the NHS. LabCycle recently secured £430,000 in BDF and Innovate UK-backed funding to support execution and scaling.

Cordon Technologies has developed the Loop, a dynamic mixing and precision-control spraying system that adjusts the concentration of multiple treatments simultaneously and in real time. The system converts spraying from a batch process into a continuously controlled one, aiming to reduce chemical inputs while improving accuracy, consistency, and operational performance. Founder and CEO Jamie Hutchinson conceived the product after eight years running a vineyard in South West France and has led early commercial deployments in the UK vineyard sector. The company plans to expand into vineyards across Europe and to adapt its technology for plant nurseries, vegetables, apples, and soft fruit. Cordon recently closed the first tranche of a £1M funding round led by British Design Fund to accelerate product development and commercial rollout.

Financially, the firm is at an early stage with £190,000 in newly secured funding and no disclosed revenue or user metrics yet.
